LinkedData
Planet Conference
BURLINGTON,
MA, May 28, 2008 - Zitgist will be exhibiting and speaking at the
LinkedData Planet conference in New York City on June 17 - 18.
The
LinkedData
Planet Conference, Exploring the New
Web of Linked Data, is the first meeting dedicated
to Linked Data. It promises to be a
threshold connection from the semantic Web to the
enterprise with an emphasis on practical benefits throughout. It is
being held June 17-18, 2008, at the Roosevelt Hotel
in New York City.
A great line up of keynote speakers is on tap
headlined by Sir
Tim Berners-Lee, director of the World Wide Web Consortium
(W3C) and lead proponent of the semantic Web and Linked Data.
Over the two-day conference, he is joined by
other keynoters including Kingsley Idehen of OpenLink
Software, Ian Davis of the Talis Group, Atanas
Kiryakov of Ontotext Lab, and Dr. Anant Jhingran
of IBM. Another 30 notable speakers accompany these
keynoters in ten breakout sessions over the course of the conference.
Zitgist's
CEO, Mike Bergman, will be participating on a panel on Linked Data on
the afternoon of Tues, June 17, chaired by Bob DuCharme,
conference chair and noted author from Innodata
Isogen. Zitgist is also exhibiting at the conference and will
be demonstrating its new version of the zLinks real-time contextual
links portal.
Already 2008 has witnessed the
transition of Linked Data from the lab into the enterprise.
The rapidity of this transition has been stunning.
The promise of just one year ago about the semantic Web and
the benefits it can bring to breaking down data barriers and stovepipes
is now a practical reality. Participants should anticipate a
seminal conference.
LinkedData
Planet is another quality event from Jupiter Media.
The early success of this first-ever meeting has
already led to the next follow-on scheduled for Fall 2008 in
Santa Clara, Calif.
